Original Mixed Media Jacaranda Series Artwork – Passionate Purple Homage
Jacaranda Blossom 2 emerges as a passionate homage to nature’s fleeting beauty—captured in vibrant brushstrokes and preserved in crystalline clarity. This emotional portrait from the Jacaranda Series features a magnificent hand-painted macro purple blossom that floats like a divine apparition against a background so deep it transcends ordinary darkness, creating a twilight realm where memory and reverence intertwine.
Hand-painted acrylic artworks infused with crystals and epoxy layers, the Jacaranda Series captures the enchantment of Mexico’s magnificent Jacaranda blossoms. Born from transformative morning runs beneath violet canopies in Guadalajara, each piece honors the flower’s rich Latin American symbolism of wisdom, renewal, and transformation. These intimate portraits elevate the Jacaranda from botanical subject to emotional landscape, inviting viewers to experience the same wonder that stopped me in my tracks on those Mexican mornings.
The inspiration struck during morning runs under Jacaranda tree canopies in Parque Metropolitano de Guadalajara, where countless delicate blossoms—typically just 1-2 inches in nature—would carpet the ground after spring showers. By dramatically enlarging a single blossom to fill this substantial 24-inch square canvas, this piece invites intimate communion with details that remain hidden to casual observers, transforming the ephemeral into the eternal.
Each petal unfolds with meticulous brushwork that creates dimensional presence through careful color transitions—from deep royal purple to delicate lavender highlights that capture the blossom’s subtle complexity. The golden pistils shimmer with hand-applied mica that catches light with the brilliance of morning sunlight illuminating freshly fallen rain, creating a focal point that draws the eye into contemplation of both botanical form and emotional resonance.
The rich dioxazine purple background appears darker than black yet maintains subtle purple essence that resonates with the blossom itself, creating a dramatic floating effect that suspends the flower in a timeless dimension. This profound backdrop allows vibrant purple tones to emerge with extraordinary presence, as though illuminated from within by their own luminosity.
What elevates this piece beyond ordinary floral portraiture is the selenite crystal infusion that creates subtle light reflections across petal surfaces—evoking the ephemeral beauty of morning dew or gentle rainfall. These crystalline elements connect the artwork to selenite’s transformative properties, which naturally absorb electromagnetic frequencies while releasing beneficial negative ions that promote clarity and calm.
Multiple layers of epoxy create dimensional quality that enhances both visual depth and tactile presence, preserving vibrant colors while adding translucent dimensions that shift with changing light conditions, bringing the memory of rain-kissed Mexican mornings into your present moment.
