The composition centers around a striking geometric star formation rendered in precise white linework, with an intricate Metatron’s Cube pattern integrated within its heart. This ancient symbol—representing the building blocks of the universe in sacred geometry—creates a powerful focal point that draws the viewer into contemplation of the mathematical principles that underlie all creation. The meticulously rendered star is set against a subtle but profound background of the Flower of Life pattern that extends across the entire surface, creating a field of interconnected circles symbolizing the unity and interconnectedness of all existence.
The stark contrast between the deep cosmic purple background and the bright white geometric linework creates a visual vibration that activates the composition while adding dimensional depth that makes the sacred patterns appear to float in space. Each line follows precise mathematical proportions that have fascinated philosophers, mathematicians, and spiritual seekers across millennia—proportions found throughout nature from the microscopic to the cosmic scale.
What transforms Marakesh beyond its striking visual presence is the thoughtful infusion of specific crystals chosen for both their aesthetic and metaphysical properties: selenite for mental clarity and accessing higher consciousness, lepidolite for emotional balance and tranquility, and mica for its light-reflective properties that create subtle luminosity across the surface. These crystalline elements are carefully embedded within multiple layers of epoxy that not only protect the artwork but create a glass-like finish with remarkable dimensional depth.
As light conditions change throughout the day, the embedded crystals activate in response, creating points of illumination that transform the viewing experience—revealing new details and creating subtle shifts in the artwork’s appearance. The selenite fragments generate clarity and brilliance, the lepidolite pieces add subtle color variation with their characteristic lavender-gray hue, and the mica particles create shimmering highlights that evoke celestial light playing across cosmic depths.
The vertical orientation of Marakesh, rising 48 inches tall, creates a commanding presence that draws the eye upward in a natural motion that echoes spiritual aspiration and cosmic connection. This towering format allows the sacred geometry to unfold in a way that guides contemplation from earthly foundations toward higher dimensions of consciousness. At this substantial scale, the piece serves as an almost portal-like presence—inviting meditation on the mathematical perfection and cosmic order that extend beyond our ordinary perception.
As the foundation piece of my Sacred Cosmos Series, Marakesh represents my artistic exploration of how ancient geometric principles connect to contemporary understanding of energy and consciousness. The sacred symbols aren’t merely decorative elements but active principles that have been recognized across cultures for their ability to harmonize space and focus contemplation. Through its carefully crafted composition and crystal infusions, this piece creates a visual meditation on the hidden mathematical language that structures reality itself—transforming both the visual character and energetic quality of any environment it inhabits.
