Personally sourced from the mineral-rich landscape of Utah, this exceptional specimen called to me through its unique composition that tells the geological story of an ancient seabed where selenite crystal formed in harmony with coral organisms. The spectacular natural coral buildup that I’ve intentionally preserved along the sculpture’s outer edge creates a dramatic textural contrast with the smooth, polished surfaces—revealing selenite’s remarkable journey from oceanic origins to crystalline formation. These coral elements, enriched with subtle red earth mineral inclusions, provide a direct connection to primordial waters that once covered the landscape where this selenite formed over millennia.
The sculpture’s graceful, flowing silhouette evokes an angelic presence with its sweeping curves and ethereal translucency. When viewed from the polished side, the crystal displays a remarkable shell-like luminosity and pearlescent quality that enhances its oceanic character.
