Hand-selected during my personal pilgrimage to the Utah hills, this pristine crystal called to me through its exceptional transparency and quartz-like quality. What makes selenite ice truly remarkable is its perfect 2-Direction AB-crystal basal cleavage lattice structure, allowing light to pass through with minimal distortion—creating the ethereal translucency that defines this rare mineral. I’ve carefully worked in communion with the stone’s natural inclinations, revealing rather than imposing form, to honor both the crystal’s innate architecture and artistic vision.
The sculpture rises in a graceful, dynamic form with a distinctive pointed upper section and flowing curves that create a sense of upward movement. This piece is distinguished by its remarkable clarity—free from the iron-rich earth inclusions often found in selenite formations—displaying a pure, quartz-like transparency that allows light to penetrate deeply through its crystalline structure.
